Olivia Broadnax (Fernandez) VIEW PROFILE

Olivia Snype Fernandez, 48, of Hartford, beloved wife for 11 years of John L. Fernandez, passed away peacefully on Monday, (May 6, 2013) at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Hartford on January 26, 1965, daughter of Walter Little of Alabama and Ellen (Snype) Tucker of Hartford, she was a lifelong resident of Hartford and a graduate Weaver High School, Class of 1983. Olivia worked at Capitol Community College for over 23 years. She had a passion for her profession and loved helping the many students she came in contact with. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping and going out with her husband. She will be remembered as a shining light to everyone who met her. She helped countless people and always maintained a positive attitude even while she was battling her recent illness. Besides her husband John, she leaves her mother, Ellen Tucker and her husband Louis of Hartford; her father, Walter Little of Alabama; her maternal grandmother, Jessie Snype; her paternal grandmother, Rosie Little; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Mae Fernandez of Hartford; four brothers, Terry Snype and his wife Blanca Iris, Walter Little, Jr., Lorenzo Little, and Melvin Little; five sisters, Victoria Snype, Valerie Little, Linda Little, Crystal Little, and Darlene Little-Porter and her husband Tim; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, James Snype; her paternal grandfather, Will Little; and her stepfather, Alexander "Brother" Broadnax. Her family will receive friends on Friday, May 10, 5-6 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 6 p.m., in the chapel of the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. Burial will be private. Olivia's family has requested that memorial contributions be made to The Oral Cancer Foundation, 3419 Via Lido #205, Newport Beach, CA 92663.

I will truly miss you especially when you came in to work and say "good morning" to me. You were liked by so many and helped those when asked. Your kind gesture and smiling face I will never forget. My condolences to your family.
