Stephen Tucker

TUCKER, Stephen Glenn Stephen Glenn Tucker, 45 of Hartford, CT passed away peacefully on Thursday, (July 15, 2010) with his family by his side at Hartford Hospital. Stephen was born on July 12, 1965 to Ella Tucker-Ellison and the late Stephen Barco. Stephen was raised in the Greater Hartford, CT area. He graduated from Thomas Snell Weaver High School, Class of 1983. During his high-school years, Stephen was a Disc Jockey for 89.9 WQTQ-FM. Stephen was a member of Cub Scout Troop 55 from Hopewell Baptist Church. He also attended Greater Hartford Community College in Hartford, CT. He was employed by Premier Maintenance Incorporated, Hartford, CT. Stephen attended Hopewell Baptist Church all his life. It was at Hopewell where he gave his life to Christ and was baptized in 1994. Stephen was a quiet, affectionate young man with an old soul. He had a habit of just walking up behind you and giving your shoulders a gentle squeeze while whispering, "I love you." He was affectionately known as "Bro'man from the 5th floor," the comical character from the hit television comedy "Martin." He could often be found sitting in a quiet corner bopping his head to the private beats in his creative mind. Stephen loved sports. He especially loved the New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys and the championship winners, Los Angeles Lakers. Stephen was predeceased by his maternal grandparents William and Sarah Tucker and paternal grandparents John and Josephine Barco. Stephen leaves to cherish in his memories his Mother Ella Ellison and Stepfather Eddie Ellison (VA). He also leaves his sister Candice Hudson, brother-in-law, Andre Hudson and his precocious nephew Michael (NY). He leaves eight aunts, six uncles, and twenty-four cousins including his confidants Lorenzo Dunn, Senior, Kenneth Dunn, Senior and Reggie Tucker. He leaves numerous extended family members and treasured friends. The family will receive friends at Clark, Bell & Bell Funeral Home, 319 Barbour St , Hartford, CT on Wednesday, July 21 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 22 at Hopewell Baptist Church, 280 Windsor Ave, Windsor, CT at 11 a.m. The interment will take place at Mt. Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield, CT. The family has requested that any memorial contributions be made to the Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center at Hartford Hospital located at 85 Retreat Ave, Hartford, CT 06114.
